Know IT All for Volunteers

Getting to Know IT All is a presentation for schools to introduce the issues contained in Know IT All. It can be used prior to the KIA presentation.

The Getting to Know IT All presentation has been produced by Childnet in partnership with Microsoft, MSN, and Virtual Global Taskforce to run in parallel with the Get Safe Online initiative.

It is a presentation for key stage 3 pupils.

The focus of Getting to Know IT All is to empower secondary school pupils, teachers, and parents to:

  • Keep their computer secure;
  • Keep themselves safe online; and
  • Know where to go for help

z cardGetting to Know IT All posterInternet Safety leafletGetting to Know IT All has been piloted in schools by volunteers from Microsoft UK and Police Forces to 40,000 young people nationwide. Schools also received resources including leaflets for young people, parents and posters for schools. You can find out more and order these here.

The presentation has a running time of 35 minutes and includes interactive games and a thought-provoking Home Office film.

Its navigation is similar to a PowerPoint, therefore making the presentation simple and intuitive to use.
